Japanese Stab Binding Tutorials

Japanese stab binding is often taught in introductory bookbinding classes because it is quick to learn and it is truly classic. Japanese bookbinding is an ancient tradition and although it comes in many forms, the stab bindings are the best known and easiest to learn.

I decided to compile a list of tutorials for quick reference. If you have a favorite Japanese bookbinding resource that isn't mentioned here, leave a comment and tell us about it.

Hi there, ...Is there any way you (BEST) could give me an updated link for the Scribd site on stab binding, above? I think I used these specific instructions to make an awesome book a few months ago, and I want to do it again, but I have searched everywhere in my browser history and I think THIS is the link to a really obscure set of instructions that I feel like I need so badly! But when I click on it, it says the document is secret and the author has to give me a password to read it... (?) Do you know who the author is? Any information would be greatly appreciated... Thanks for your fab site!

Of the website links, only one is functional. Stab binding fail.

Thanks Anonymous. I've removed the links that don't work. You can find more video tutorials by searching on YouTube:
